Getting Green Grants - A snapshot for schools/centres

There are so many grants available for environmental work and activities to be carried out in schools, but the principle one at the moment is the National Solar Schools Program.

Applying for this grant, which could be up to $50,000 per school, is by no means a straightforward process.

The school must carefully research the project it wants to undertake: the grant application must include quotes from licensed operators and a detailed timeline.

The grants can go towards solar power systems, rainwater tanks, fans, insulation and meters. For details visit www.environment.gov.au/nationalsolarschools
