Germany

Drama - Hamburg - Kate teaches Drama (Grades 6-10) and IB Theatre Arts (Higher and Standard) at the Hamburg International School. She has a BSE in Theatre, Speech and English and an MA in Theatre Education; and has 26 years of teaching experience. Excellent references are available.
The school will offer free tuition to the children of the incoming exchange teacher; this is fantastic!
Kate is married and has a three-bedroom apartment available for exchange (with a courtyard and bbq); it is in a lovely part of the city in a residential area. One teenager may accompany them on exchange.
Although Kate would consider a January 2007 start; July 2007 would be preferred.

United Kingdom

There are some fantastic exchange opportunities available! An exchange is the direct swap of your position and accommodation. Your home employer pays you and your year away is counted as a year of service. Your spouse may apply for an open work permit and be paid in pounds. Your children may attend public or Catholic schools (and there are no school fees!).

Secondary Science/Chemistry - Barnsley - Gary teaches at The Foulstone School in Barnsley; he is married to Ann, a primary teacher (could be a double match); they have a four bedroom home available.

Secondary Physical Education - Reading, Berkshire - Colin teaches at The Bulmershe School, in the university town of Reading; he is married with four children and has a four bedroom home available.

Truro School is the only large independent school in Cornwall and the only one catering for both boys and girls. The main school site, occupying fifty acres, is superbly situated overlooking the city of Truro and the river estuary. Demand for places is high. Primary Grade 6 - Calgary, Alberta - Lisa presently teaches Grade 6 at Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta school in Calgary. Lisa is Catholic, married to Richard and they have a beautiful four-level home available for exchange in Calgary - home of the famous Stampede. The incoming teacher must also be a Catholic. Lisa is a sacristan in her parish and a member of the pastoral care team. This is a top exchange application!

Primary Grade 5 - Calgary, Alberta - Shawna presently teaches Grade 5 at St Ambrose School in northwest Calgary, predominately an upper-middle class community. Shawna is young and single, Catholic and involved in the planning of school liturgies and retreats. Shawna owns her own home but has tenants (a teacher and a firefighter) at the moment. It is a huge home, everyone has their own space. If you are Catholic and love hiking, skiing, snowboarding etc and want to experience a top exchange experience and live with other young Canadians, then go for it!

Secondary Guidance/Counsellor - Calgary, Alberta - Phil is a guidance counsellor at Bishop O'Byrne High School in Calgary. He is also qualified to teach Religion and Social Studies, although the incoming teacher's assignment is Guidance. Phil is Catholic, married with four children, and has a two-storey four-bedroom home available for exchange in Calgary - home of the famous Calgary Stampede. Secondary French - Edmonton, Alberta - Marlene teaches French at Louis St Laurent School, a Catholic school in Edmonton; she is also teaching Religion. Marlene is Catholic, married with three children and lovely five bedroom home available for exchange in Sherwood Park in Edmonton - the capital of the province and famous for its shopping mall. The incoming teacher must also be Catholic.

Middle School Music - Kelowna, British Columbia - Neil teaches Grades 7-9 Music (concert band, jazz band) at Constable Neil Bruce Middle School in Kelowna. He is also qualified to teach senior Music. He has built one of the largest music programs in his district and continually placed in the top three at music festivals, including many invitations to the Canadian National Music Festival. Kelowna is a dynamic city in the southern interior of British Columbia. It's stunning lakeside sitting and year-round recreational pursuits draw visitors from around the globe. Middle School Maths/Science/PE & ESL/Special Ed. - Coquitlam, British Columbia - This is a top double exchange. Justin teaches Grades 6-8 Maths/Science/PE at Hillcrest Middle School in Coquitlam (near Vancouver); and is married to Joy who teaches ESL/Special Ed/Resource Room at Maillard Middle School in Coquitlam. Justin and Joy have a three bedroom home available for exchange close to both schools. Coquitlam is situated on the west coast of BC; a 25 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. Secondary Careers/Counselling/Special Ed. - Campbell River, British Columbia - Vicki teaches Secondary Career Development/Special Education in the school district of Campbell River; the incoming teacher would be placed in a secondary school (15-19 year olds). Middle School - Merritt, British Columbia - Sheldon is presently teaching Grade 7 Maths, Science, Phys Ed and Leadership at Coquihalla Middle School in BC. Sheldon is willing to teach any subjects any grade. He is married and has a brand new three bedroom townhouse available for exchange. The city of Merritt is situated in the heart of the Nicola Valley, although a city, it is also small enough to comfortably walk to most destinations within a half hour or so. Secondary English - Victoria, British Columbia - Barbara is an experienced teacher of English and Journalism (is also a published poet) at Reynolds Secondary School in Victoria BC. Victoria is situated at the southern tip of Vancouver Island with top tourist attractions. Barbara has 30 years experience including teaching at College and University level. She has a lovely two-bedroom townhouse with mountain views available for exchange. Excellent references are available; the district is very supportive of the exchange but will want very high quality in the incoming teacher. Social Studies/Home Economics - Edmunston, New Brunswick - Louise teaches at Saint Mary's Academy, a private girls school in this beautiful part of Canada; she is Catholic. The incoming teacher would be teaching Junior Language Arts and Social Studies and senior Home Economics. Louise is single and has a two bedroom home available.

Primary - Fredericton, New Brunswick - Steve is presently a principal but will be exchanging as a classroom teacher. The incoming teacher would have their pick of a K-5 assignment in one of the elementary schools in Fredericton. All schools are small inner city schools with very friendly and supportive teachers who would welcome an exchange into their school community. Steve is married with two small children and has an absolutely beautiful three bedroom home available for exchange. Fredericton, the capital city of New Brunswick, is a beautiful city with plenty of parks and walking trails nestled along the banks of the Saint John River. Secondary Communication Technology/Computer Studies - Barrie, Ontario - Michael teaches at St Joseph's High School in Barrie (incoming teacher need not be a Catholic); he is married and has a new three bedroom home available.

Careers/Guidance/English/History - Cobourg, Ontario - Peggy teaches at Cobourg District Collegiate; there is good flexibility for the incoming teacher. She is Catholic, married and has a beaut four bedroom home available (and swimming pool).

Languages - Guelph, Ontario - Denise teaches Intermediate/Senior French at John F Ross Collegiate in Guelph Ontario. Denise is also able to teach German and Latin. There is flexibility for the incoming teacher. The school is unique in that it houses the ESL program and thus is quite multicultural. It is the only Geulph school with French Immersion. Denise has been on exchange previously to Sydney and her school presently has an exchange there; very supportive school! Denise has a beautiful four-bedroom home available for exchange in the "older part" of the university city of Guelph. Communication Technology/Design & Technology - Guelph, Ontario - Michelle teaches at John F Ross Collegiate in Guelph (school is very flexible with incoming teacher's load); she is single with one son and has a three bedroom home available.

Special Education - Hamilton, Ontario - Terri is a Special Ed teacher at W H Ballard School in Hamilton Ontario. The ideal exchange teacher would have expertise experience in FIRST STEPS, Special Education and Literacy Intervention Remediation. W H Ballard School was built in 1923 and at that time, was the biggest school in the British Empire! Terri is married with two school-aged children and has a three bedroom two storey home available for exchange in Hamilton; one of the oldest cities in Canada unique with tiered escarpment and blessed with a large bayfront area that serves as an international port of call; look up http://www.myhamilton.ca - one of the top exchange destinations!

Middle School - History/Geography/RE - Innisfil, Ontario - Steven currently teaches Grades 7 and 8 at St Francis of Assisi Elementary School in Innisfil Ontario; it is situated half way between the cities of Barrie and Newmarket. There is great flexibility for the incoming teacher. Steven is an Honours History Specialist and can teach English, Maths, Arts and Physical Education to Grades 9 and is qualified to teach History/English to ages 11-18. Religion/Social Studies - London, Ontario - Jason teaches at Regina Mundi College; is Catholic (incoming teacher must be Catholic); there is much flexibility in the teaching load for the incoming teacher. He is married and has a three bedroom home available.

Primary and French - Mississauga, Ontario - Lucy is currently teaching Kindergarten and French as a Second Language to grades 4 and 5 at St Margaret of Scotland School in Mississauga Ontario. Lucy is Catholic (incoming teacher must be Catholic), single and has lived and taught in Australia before, hence views teaching abroad as a challenging and extremely worthwhile experience; excellent references are available. She has a one bedroom, fully furnished apartment in a condominium in Mississauga available for exchange. Primary and French - Niagara Falls, Ontario - Andrea is currently teaching Grade 4/5 (homeroom) and two Junior French classes (age 8) at Victoria School in Niagara Falls Ontario. Primary - North York, Ontario - Sakina is a primary teacher at McKee Public School; she is Muslim and must exchange to reach her religious community on the holy days of worship; she is single and has an apartment available.

Primary - Oakville, Ontario - Ann Marie is teaching primary at St Vincent's Elementary School in Oakville Ontario. She currently teaches Junior Computers, Reading, Phys Ed, and Science but is qualified to each all areas of the curriculum. There would be flex for the incoming teacher; the assignment has not yet been allocated; but the teacher must be Catholic.
Ann Marie is young, Catholic and would be bringing her fiancé with her on exchange and has a lovely three bedroom home available for exchange in Oakville. An IEU member is presently on exchange to Oakville.
Oakville is a top town on Lake Ontario in southern Ontario, midway between Toronto and Hamilton. There are numerous walking trails all throughout the town; the village of Bronte is within walking distance along the lakefront. Secondary Visual Art - Ottawa, Ontario - Donna teaches Visual Art at Nepean High School in Ottawa Ontario. She is also willing to teach Family Studies and Careers. Nepean High School (http://www.nepeanhighschool.com) is situated in the older part of Ottawa, the nation's capital. Ottawa has beautiful architecture, lots of green space and world-class dining and cultural events, including the National Art Centre. Look up http://www.ottawa.ca and see for yourself. Donna has grown up children, so will be on exchange on her own, and has a lovely and new, beautifully furnished, one bedroom apartment available for exchange. Another top destination!

Secondary Social Sciences - Ottawa, Ontario - Robert teaches senior Social Sciences at St Nicholas Adult High School in Ottawa; the incoming teacher must be Catholic. He is single and has a two bedroom home available.

Primary and French - Pickering, Ontario - Jacqueline is currently teaching French at St Elizabeth Seton Catholic School in Pickering Ontario. She is a French Specialist, although the incoming teacher would not be required to be a specialist in French. There is flexibility for the incoming teacher ie French/English. St Elizabeth Seton was the first native born American to be declared a saint; the school is very honored to have her as their patron saint. Jacqueline is married (with grown up children) and has a beautiful three bedroom home available for exchange. The incoming teacher need not be a Catholic. Secondary ESL/PE - Toronto, Ontario - Cameron is presently teaching English as a Second Language and Physical Education at Riverdale Collegiate Institute in Toronto. He is also qualified to teach History and Law. The incoming teacher must teach ESL but there is good flexibility with other subjects. Cam has been on exchange to Australia previously.
Riverdale Collegiate is located in the downtown area of Toronto; it is an academic school which also offers applied courses to students who wish to pursue a college course after graduation from secondary school. It has an excellent reputation and takes its name from its geography, located close to the Don River and Lake Ontario.
Cam is married with one child and has a three bedroom home in a residential area in Toronto available for exchange. Toronto is Canada's largest city and home to the CN Tower, the world's tallest free-standing structure; a dynamic cosmopolitan population. History - Whitby, Ontario - Dennis is teaching History (and Civics) at Fr Leo J Austin Catholic High School Whitby. He is also a RE specialist and can teach Geography. The school is in a middle class neighborhood just out of Toronto. The school has a full-time lay chaplain and a visiting priest to say Mass for both staff and students throughout the liturgical year.
Dennis is married with three children and has a lovely three-bedroom home in Ajax available for exchange. Parks, tennis courts, pools, skating, soccer, baseball, and ice-hockey facilities are all within five minutes drive; and so is the cricket ground (yes cricket ground!). Dennis is Catholic; but the incoming teacher need not be.
Dennis is Canadian, married to an Australian (ex Sydney) and has taught in Perth and Melbourne previously.

Primary - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - We are pleased to be able to offer our very first exchange to the province of Saskatchewan; and it is a beauty!
Debbie presently teaches Grade 5 (all subjects except French) at St Dominic School in Saskatoon, excellent references are available. St Dominic is a Catholic elementary school in a middle to high socio-economic area. Saskatoon is a town of 230,000, about 400 km from the US border and half way between the borders of Alberta and Manitoba.
Debbie is a Catholic, is married with grown up children and lives in a beautiful two storey two bedroom condominium complete with top views, a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. The incoming teacher must be Catholic and there is flex with the grades for the incoming teacher.

English/Drama/Dance - Vancouver BC - Katrina teaches secondary English/Drama and Dance at Steveston Secondary School, home of the "Packers" in Richmond, British Columbia. There could be flex here, ie all English but Drama and Dance would be preferred. Katrina is young and single and has a one bedroom apartment (with a solarium) in the village of Collingwood in Vancouver; http://www.discovervancouver.com/gvb/collingwood-renfrew.asp - what a spot!
