Car rental

Avis/Hertz/Budget/Thrifty

Members pay corporate rates for car rentals with all these companies. Avis extend these rates to car hire overseas but recommend that you make your bookings in Australia.

The IEU office will provide a sticker carrying the IEU's identification number. This must be produced when claiming the discount. To make a decision as to which company is offering the most competitive rate, members should check the insurance rates and conditions and any additional costs for travel to country areas.

Car rental companies often advertise specials for limited periods - discounts will not usually apply to these specials. NRMA members may find some rates lower if bookings are made through the NRMA.

Recreational services

Sydney University Sports and Aquatic Centre Members can join the Noel Martin Recreation Centre for an annual fee (price on application). Facilities include a swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, weight lifting, aerobics and cardio-vascular equipment.

Wollongong University Recreation and Sports Association

IEU members who are graduates of Wollongong University or other colleges or universities can join the association for an annual fee (price on application).

This gives members access to all facilities at rates which are at an average 50 per cent below commercial rates. Telephone: (02) 4221 4700
