IEU reaches agreement with AIS

5th SEP 2014

Following the Commonwealth Government's changes to the Superannuation Guarantee legislation which delays superannuation increases until 2021, and the desire to reach a consent position on the Multi Enterprise Agreements for independent schools in NSW, the AIS and the IEU have reached a consent position.

The agreements as currently drafted will be amended to reflect the following changes:

Teachers

2015:   2.25% OOPS as salary

           0.25% OOPS as superannuation

2016:   2.3% salary increase effective February 2016

0.2% OOPS as salary or superannuation

Support Staff

2015:   2.25% salary increase effective February 2015

           0.25% OOPS as superannuation

2016:   2.3% salary increase effective February 2016

0.2% OOPS as salary or superannuation

The currently drafted agreements are now void. New agreements will be sent to schools for distribution to staff next week and a new voting period will be set for early Term 4.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these late changes but believe this inconvenience is outweighed by having a clear consent position across the independent school sector in NSW.

Accordingly we urge all employees covered by these agreements to vote YES.
