The NSW and ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020 (the EA) provides pay rises of 2.5% from January 2020 and a further pay rise of 2.28% from January 2021 for support staff (referred to as General Employees in the EA). This is the same as the pay increases for teachers in NSW.

A pay increase is necessary to re-establish pay parity with the existing wages paid in NSW government schools. Bathurst Catholic employers won't talk
Teachers and support staff in Catholic schools in the Bathurst Diocese in central west NSW and their union representatives were left frustrated on Wednesday 26 February when the newly appointed Executive Director of Schools for the diocese, Christina Trimble, cancelled negotiations for a new Work Practices Agreement at short notice. CCER launches blatant attack on the Union
Letters have been distributed across 11 dioceses in NSW and ACT to Catholic school staff by CSO and CEO directors, blatantly attacking the Union's position and accusing it of spreading mistruths. Already several days into the vote for a new enterprise agreement, the move is a desperate attempt by CCER to sway their members to vote for the agreement, even though it puts all their working and pay conditions at risk.

As the Catholic employers' proposed EA goes to the vote today, many members have already contacted the Union informing them of their NO vote. Members recognise that their rights are in peril. They recognise that if they don't prevent this EA from passing through, then they could lose the right to arbitration forever.
