The IEU represents principals and teachers holding comparable positions, such as directors of studies in ELICOS colleges.

The Union conducts regular meetings of principals to ensure we are able to vigorously and accurately represent your views and meet your particular needs.

  • Letter from Jodie Harrison NSW Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Learning

    The NSW Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Learning has today written a letter to staff working in early childhood learning centres to thank them for the work they are doing in early childhood education during the uncertain times created by COVID-19. She has also attached a letter she wrote to the Minister for Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell with concerns about the impacts of COVID-19 on the NSW Early Childhood Learning sector.

  • Covid-19 update for early childhood members

    At this stage, both early education and care centres and community-based preschools will continue to remain open. As with the closure of schools, this matter is under review constantly. We understand that it will be discussed again at the COAG meeting on Friday.

    At a meeting on 24 March, the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Board confirmed that the Higher School Certificate (HSC) is going ahead in 2020, along with a commitment to providing clear and regular advice to the community about the HSC as the COVID-19 outbreak continues.
