Supporting the independent education community

JOURNEY TO BE A SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL IN 2020

In this workshop participants will have an opportunity to explore where their school is on the journey to sustainability and find help for the next step. The session will be participatory and will help you link, learn and share with other members on their school’s sustainability path.

The session will focus mainly on Sustainable Schools NSW and the very new Earthcare certified schools being managed by Catholic Earthcare Australia.

Within the AuSSi network all the Sustainable Schools programs share and so those schools in the ACT have the ACT Smart program managed by the ACT government.

For early childhood centres support comes from ECEEN.

The workshop will be led by Sue Martin, Catholic Earthcare NSW volunteer coordinator – based within the Australian Jesuit Province office as the Ecology project officer and AuSSi Network coordinator and Chair AAEE NSW overseeing Sustainable Schools NSW. As well as Bernard Holland, National Director Catholic Earthcare Australia.

Completing Journey to be a Sustainable School in 2020 will contribute 2 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 6.2.2; 6.3.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Please email Marie-Claude Guilbault on pd@ieu.asn.au or call 1800 467 943 or 02 8202 8900 if you are not able to use RSVP button.
