BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD SETTINGS

Dr Georgie Fleming’s workshop will provide the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the science underlying different developmental pathways to disruptive behaviour problems. You will enhance your understanding of disruptive behaviour problems in children and your ability to recognise how patterns of adult-child interactions perpetuate disruptive behaviour. Dr Fleming will assist participants to identify the function of particular behaviour problems and recognise how these behaviours are used to meet children’s “needs” using real-life examples. Expect to increase your understanding of a range of practical behaviour management strategies appropriate for the early years and learn to recognise which strategies are more or less effective depending on specific children’s traits.

Completing Behaviour Management Strategies for Early Childhood Settings will contribute 2 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 4.3.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
