Supporting the independent education community

You’ve just commenced your first teaching job and are now wondering what it is you need to do in order to obtain your accreditation as a proficient teacher?

This course will equip you with the knowledge to approach your accreditation journey with confidence.

To commence the session our presenter, Michael Elphick, will take you through what a standard induction process should look like, including a close investigation of your professional obligations under a standard code of conduct.

IEU Professional Officers, Veronica Yewdall and Pat Devery will then step you through the initial phase of your accreditation to proficient journey, outlining how the process will unfold and ensuring you are receiving all the support to which you are entitled under the current agreements.

This is the first of four sessions the IEU Professional Engagement team will be presenting on the Accreditation to Proficient process.

Audience: Graduate 1 year out teachers, teachers classified as Not Yet Proficient members of the IEU.

This course addresses standard descriptors 6.2.2, 7.1.2 and 7.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
