Professor Marie Bashir believes education and lifelong learning are integral to existence. Her roles in the fields of health, education and the arts have received national and international recognition and changed lives. As Chancellor of The University of Sydney she was highly respected for two successive terms, and throughout three successive terms as Governor of NSW, she was much loved.
Professor Bashir spoke with IE about her teachers, mentors and those who have challenged and inspired her through what continues to be a truly remarkable life.
