Supporting the independent education community

What gives a head start?

An $8 billion US program, Head Start, supports low income families and has shown good quality preschool attendance has significant benefits for individuals (and society) into adult life.

Children from low income families who had been through the Head Start program, giving them access to preschool education, were found to have higher maths scores in eighth grade and were less likely to display chronic absenteeism. These factors are predictors for high school graduation, university attendance and earning potential later in life.
