Change the Rules protests across the country

Hundreds of thousands of unionists took to the street today, 10 April, as part of a coordinated campaign by the ACTU to protest current labour laws, and demand we 'Change the Rules'.

The Union took part in these protests in both Sydney and Canberra. In NSW, the protests targeted specific federal election battlegrounds such as Banks and Reid. A commitment to changing the rules means we need to change the government to one that is committed to the change the rules agenda.

The rallies were well attended across the country, with at least 14 locations. The biggest rallies were in Melbourne and Adelaide. Melbourne CBD hosted a reported 150-170,000 protesters, demanding fair pay rises, job security and fairness for working women.
