The IEU and its members were horrified and appalled at the hate-filled actions of the terrorist gunman in Christchurch. Our hearts go out in solidarity with our Kiwi brothers, sisters and comrades who might be suffering or traumatised by this act of unconscionable violence.
At the IEUA NSW/ACT Branch Council meeting on Saturday 16 March, the day after the horrific violence was committed, Union Officers and delegates joined together in silent recognition and respect for the victims, their families, and communities.
The Union condemns these actions and extends our sincerests condolences and offers of assistance to the victims, and to the Islamic community both in New Zealand and Australia.
