Highly Accomplished - Lead Teacher pilot

In July 2019, the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) initiated an Early Childhood Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) pilot. NESA is looking for participants for a second cohort of early childhood teachers for a pilot commencing in March 2020.

The pilot aims to develop teachers’ practice against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (the Standards) at Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher. NESA will guide and support teachers with a schedule of face to face and online sessions between March 2020 and June 2021 ending with the teachers’ final submission of a higher levels application.

Working with this small cohort of teachers provides an opportunity to share and celebrate early childhood teaching practice with the larger teaching profession and contribute to building the capacity of early childhood teachers.

A non refundable application fee for the higher levels of accreditation must be paid before a final application is submitted ($605 for Highly Accomplished Teacher or $715 for Lead Teacher). NESA has established a three-part payment schedule for pilot participants.

If you would like to participate in the 2020 HALT pilot, please register your interest by Friday 25 October with Merise Bickley, Head, Early Childhood, NESA by email to merise.bickley@nesa.nsw.edu.au
