Religious Discrimination Bill – IEUA submission December 2019
The IEUA has made a submission to the Attorney General’s office regarding the proposed package of religious freedom bills.
In our submission, and in further meetings and discussion with relevant parties, including the leader of the opposition, we expressed our deep concerns at the bill in its current form.
The IEUA believes that the draft law is flawed, unnecessary and an affront to people of faith working in faith based workplaces.
Our submission is now public. We call on the government to ensure transparency in the consultation and review process by making all submissions, on this proposed law, public.
We welcome respectful debate in good faith around consideration of this sensitive and critical issue.
