Casual teachers and support staff

Attention: Casual teachers and support staff who are IEU members impacted by COVID-19 can now apply for a fee exemption.

Casual teachers and support staff who are financial members of the IEU are entitled to apply for a six-month exemption from the payment fees due to COVID-19. This is in recognition of the impact COVID-19 is having on your casual employment.

  • Only financial members can apply for exemption.
  • The cutoff date to apply for exemption will be 22 May 2020.
  • New members must become financial to qualify to apply for the exemption.

You will continue to receive our full membership service and all member benefits, and we will continue to advocate for you during this difficult time.

How to apply

Please email your request to participate to membership@ieu.asn.au, include your full name, membership number, address, mobile contact, and email contact.

Before applying please read the information below. In applying for exemption, you have agreed to terms below:

If you have dues outstanding for 2020 your membership will be advanced for a 6- month period.

If you have already paid your 2020 membership fees a 6-month credit will be issued to be used against 2021. Please know this credit amount will remain on your record until used. No refunds will be issued on credit amounts.

In applying for this exemption, you understand that the IEU will adjust your fees to the correct membership category at the conclusion of the exemption period, unless you otherwise specify in writing to membership@ieu.asn.au, two weeks in advance of any amendments/extensions.
