Broken Bay Diocese employs hygienists for schools
Broken Bay Diocese has employed 44 hygienists for Catholic schools; the union has been informed that there will be a hygienist employed at every school in that Diocese. The hygienist will work for four hours per day, five days per week. They will undertake mandatory online training before commencement, for which they will be paid, and they will be provided with personal protective equipment to perform their work.
The hygienists are new casual workers; school cleaners will continue to clean as per their current arrangements. Hygienists can be members of the IEU and are encouraged to join the union.
