Maintaining at Proficient Teacher

My maintenance period ends in 2021

What if I have already completed my 100 hours?

  • Check your eTams account to ensure you have a green tick on the Progress Overview page.
  • Download and save a copy of your PD progress report.
  • No further action required.

 

What if I have not yet completed my 100 hours?

  • Complete the remaining hours as Elective or NESA Accredited PD (as it becomes available).
  • Enter the hours onto eTams.

 

My maintenance period ends in 2022 or later

What if I have already completed my 100 hours?

  • Check your eTams account to ensure you have a green tick on the Progress Overview page.
  • Download and save a copy of your PD progress report.
  • No further action required.

 

What if I have not yet completed my 100 hours?

  • You must complete at least one NESA Accredited PD course in a priority area.
  • Complete the remaining hours as Elective or NESA Accredited PD (as it becomes available).
  • Enter the hours onto eTams.

 

Maintaining at Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher

The same timeframe and priority area advice provided above for teachers maintaining at proficient applies to teachers maintaining at HAT or LEAD.

Further, to comply with HAT and LEAD maintenance requirements, teachers need to:

  • Ensure you have completed 20 hours of professional commitment activities.
  • Complete the remaining hours as Elective or NESA Accredited PD (as it becomes available).
  • Ensure the PD aligns to the Standard Descriptors at Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher.
  • Enter the hours onto eTams.

 

General information

  1. You can still only submit your maintenance declaration within three months of your due date. There is no benefit in submitting early.
  2. Once your maintenance period is renewed, you will be subject to the new policy.
  3. The IEU has over 50 hours of Elective PD available on The IEUZone (theieuzone.org.au).
