Professional Development update
Christmas Break Period – until 31 Jan 2021
Members are advised that any IEU on-demand courses they undertake from the IEU Zone prior to 31st January 2021 will count towards their 50 hours of registered/accredited PD they are required to undertake as part of their maintenance of accreditation.
To access the on-demand union PD go to https://www.theieuzone.org.au and choose PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT from the drop down menu.
You will need to complete the google form at the end of each PD session in order to be eligible for the registered PD hours. Only financial members will be eligible for the registered hours.
All PD participant details will be uploaded to eTAMS in early February 2021.
Post Feb 5th 2021 – the interim period
NESA has advised the union that any PD which was formally categorised as registered and is relevant to the following two priority areas:
- delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework
- students/children with disability
will be eligible for interim accreditation status from 5th February until 31st July 2021. This will allow members to continue to accrue accredited hours.
The union is currently reviewing all our on-demand PD to ascertain which courses we believe will meet the NESA interim PD criteria. We will advise which courses have been assessed as eligible in the new year.
Early Childhood Sector Teachers
The union has been in contact with TLN, our ECS professional development provider partners, who are also undertaking a review of their courses.
They have advised that many of their courses should fit the criteria as being eligible for the interim accreditation status. A full list will be provided in the new year.
In the meantime, ECS members are advised that any courses they undertake from the TLN site which were formally considered as registered will count towards their registered/accredited hours for their current maintenance of accreditation period.
