    NESA has announced that, from 30 November, it would cancel the endorsement of all professional development providers across NSW. Its proposed new policy removes the endorsed PD provider status from teacher unions and other professional teaching associations, while retaining that preferential classification for Catholic and independent school employers.

The Victorian announcement will see early childhood teachers finally paid the same rate as school teachers, the correct rate for their equivalent and often identical teaching qualifications.

    The union has written to the heads of major non-government school employer bodies regarding the recent announcement of $300 million of funding over a 12-month period by the NSW Government for government and some non-government schools.
