July 31, 2026

APPLICATIONS CLOSE WEDNESDAY 5 AUGUST 2026

The union is calling for expressions of interest from experienced members to be recommended for NESA’s VET Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the new Children’s Education and Care Curriculum Framework. The Framework will provide a pathway to Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. If possible, it may also include pathways to Certificate III in School Based Education Support and Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care.

  • Children’s Education and Care Curriculum Framework

NESA will determine the final membership of the TAG from recommendations provided by the IEU and other stakeholders. TAG members will provide expert advice and assure the quality of the draft syllabus. During development of the syllabus, members may be invited to review, provide feedback and suggest amendments to the concept paper and draft syllabus package, and advise NESA about issues that may arise during syllabus development.

Successful applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae and will be selected based on expertise in content and pedagogical content knowledge for the qualification(s) and/or industry area, preferably with experience delivering VET to Year 11 and 12 students.

  • expertise in research and evidence-based practice for the qualification(s) and industry area
  • expertise in curriculum development for VET delivered to secondary students
  • understanding of relevant state and national practices and trends
  • recent experience in the qualification(s) and industry area.

To avoid perceived or actual conflicts of interest, members of the TAG are excluded from being:

  • engaged in commercial educational activities, such as textbook writing, or commercial professional development provision related to the syllabus
  • a syllabus writer or reviewer involved in the current syllabus development process
  • a current member of a Sector Reference Group (SeRG)
  • a full-time employee of NESA.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please complete the Member Nomination Form and return it to pd@ieu.asn.au (Attention: Sebastien) by close of business on Wednesday 5 August 2026.
