We, the undersigned—comprising trade unionists, public figures, experts, and human rights defenders—express our profound concern regarding the recent developments and the nationwide uprising of the people of Iran.
This national movement is rooted in deep structural economic crises, ineffective governance, systemic corruption, and the persistent suppression of fundamental freedoms, as well as the killing of innocent civilians. The dramatic collapse of the national currency, soaring inflation, widespread poverty, and mass unemployment have compelled millions to take to the streets. The people of Iran, who have endured years of hardship resulting from the government’s adventurist policies, now unequivocally demand freedom, equality, and an end to authoritarian rule.
