  • IEU Environment Grants 2020

    IEU members are invited to apply on behalf of their schools, colleges or Early Childhood Centres for one of three grants of $3000 each, sponsored by the union, to help with their environmental projects. The IEU has a proud history of funding and supporting education projects that bring sustainability projects to life, and is the sole sponsor for this initiative.

  • Early Childhood Conference online sessions

    The IEU Executive has made the decision to cancel the in-person Early Childhood Conference this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This unprecedented situation is the first time the IEU has cancelled the Conference in more than 20 years. The IEU is offering a range of NESA registered online professional development opportunities to our members in it's stead.

    Wear it Purple Day is Friday the 28th of August, 2020. Wear it Purple Day is about showing LGBTIQ+ young people that they have the right to be proud of who they are. It is about creating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public spaces to show LGBTIQ+ young people that they are seen and supported.

  • NewsExtra: Maitland-Newcastle Diocese EA update

    The union is close to finalising a new Enterprise Agreement (EA) to apply to employees in Catholic systemic schools in NSW and the ACT. However, the union has struck a hurdle in negotiations with the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle concerning the Work Practice Agreements (WPAs) that sit alongside the EA as the Diocese has sought to reduce existing conditions.

  • VOTE YES: NewsExtra ACT Christian Schools Teaching Staff MEA

    The proposed MEA has been negotiated between the union and Christian Schools Australia on behalf of Brindabella Christian College, Emmaus Christian School and Trinity Christian Schools and contains significant pay rises. The pay rises will only come into effect if employees at the schools vote “Yes” for the proposed MEA.

  • NGS Super and Australian Catholic Super merger

    The Independent Education Union of Australia NSW/ACT Branch (IEUA NSW/ACT) welcomes the announcement that NGS Super and Australian Catholic Super intend to merge. The planned merger will create a large fund with more than $21 billion under management.
