Teachers Health Fund

Teachers Health was established in 1954 to provide teachers, support staff and their family members with access to quality health insurance products. They are Australia’s largest industry-based health fund, with more than 60 years of experience and covering over 300,000 lives nationwide.

Teachers Health owns and operates Health Centres offering optical, dental, physio, chiro and remedial massage services (not available at all centres) in Sydney (Surry Hills and Parramatta), Newcastle (Hamilton) and Melbourne (Richmond) and gives members access to travel and general insurance.

Legal Assistance

Legal Referrals

In addition to assistance provided to members regarding workplace employment issues, we offer a referral for all other non-work related legal matters to solicitors recommended by the IEU. All first consultations are free, except in relation to wills where a minimum charge applies.

Welfare Rights Centre

The Welfare Rights Centre is a community legal centre specialising in social security law and family assistance law and its administration by Centrelink.

They provide free legal information, advice and representation to thousands of NSW residents every year who are adversely affected by Centrelink decisions. They can advise people about their social security rights, entitlements and obligations and assist people through the social security review and appeals system, including Centrelink internal review and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. They provide all initial advice by phone: 02 9211 5300
