NSW Industry Curriculum Framework
Applications due to the IEU by close of business Monday 12 October 2026
The union is calling for expressions of interest from experienced members to recommend to NESA for consideration as potential writers and reviewers as part of the development of a new VET syllabus – known as an Industry Curriculum Framework (Framework). The new Children’s Education and Care Curriculum Framework (working title) will provide a pathway to Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
The new framework will provide a pathway to:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
If possible, a pathway to:
- Certificate III in School Based Education Support
- Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care
Suitable teachers and/or experts to write and/or review the HSC content for the syllabus will be selected based on:
- current experience and expertise in content knowledge for the qualification(s) and industry area
- proven excellent written communication skills
- expertise in curriculum development for VET delivered to secondary students
- knowledge and experience in Aboriginal education and/or teaching students with disability is desirable.
To avoid perceived or actual conflicts of interest, recommended members are excluded from being:
- engaged in commercial educational activities, such as textbook writing, or commercial professional development provision related to the syllabus
- a member of the Children’s Education and Care Technical Advisory Group (TAG)
- a current member of a Sector Reference Group (SeRG)
- a full-time employee of NESA.
