Schools represented by the Association of Independent Schools (AIS) are covered by multi–enterprise agreements (MEAs) negotiated in 2021 and concluding in January 2025.
Low pay rises in the MEAs reflect the prevailing wages policy and low inflation in 2021.
However, unprecedented pay rises in NSW government and Catholic systemic schools from October this year have resulted in many schools paying extra increases on top of the MEA rates to match the government increases.
