The latest supported bargaining conference occurred on 26 March, with Fair Work Commission Deputy President, Judith Wright, the IEU bargaining team, Community Early Learning Australia (CELA) employer representatives and government officials from the NSW Department of Education.
We were hopeful to have some good news from the department, but sadly this was not the case; the NSW Government has not committed to provide any additional funding to the preschool sector.

If you are an early childhood teacher and an IEU member, check out our Facebook group.
What can you do? The IEU encourages our preschool members to join the campaign, meet with your local MPs and invite them to visit your service. Showcase the work you do and tell them why you deserve equity and parity with your colleagues in NSW government preschools and schools. The IEU can provide speaking notes and flyers for parents and MPs. Let us know about any visits you host and send us the photos. Email ecec@ieu.asn.au.
